Bangkok’s 28th International Festival of Dance & Music 2026

Bangkok’s International Festival of Dance & Music returns for its 28th edition, bringing world-class performing arts to Bangkok from 5 September to 17 October 2026.

This year’s festival features 12 spectacular productions from 9 countries, covering opera, ballet, contemporary dance and innovative theatrical performances.

Festival Highlights

Audiences can look forward to performances by internationally acclaimed companies and artists, including:

  • Eifman Ballet, Russia – presenting The Pygmalion Effect and Russian Hamlet, with choreography by renowned Russian choreographer Boris Eifman.
  • Helikon Opera, Russia – bringing a large cast, orchestra and production team to Bangkok for the classic operas La Traviata and Madama Butterfly.
  • Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus – performing two much-loved ballet classics, Romeo & Juliet and Cinderella.
  • New York City Opera, USA – making its first appearance in Thailand with Opera Goes to Hollywood.
  • National Theatre Brno, Czech Republic – presenting Coco Chanel, a contemporary ballet inspired by the life of legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel.
  • The Great Gatsby – bringing the glamour, romance and ambition of the Jazz Age to the stage.
  • Murmuration Level 2 by French choreographer Sadeck Berrabah.
  • RITE by Brazil’s Deborah Colker Dance Company, a contemporary interpretation inspired by Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.
  • Alice in Wonderland – a visually spectacular production combining contemporary dance, acrobatics and fantasy.

From Shakespeare and classical opera to fashion icons, American literature and modern dance, the festival offers a diverse programme for both performing arts enthusiasts and visitors looking for a memorable cultural experience during their stay in Bangkok.

How to Get There by MRT

The easiest way to reach the Thailand Cultural Centre by public transport is by MRT Blue Line.

Take the MRT to Thailand Cultural Centre Station (BL19) and use Exit 1, which is designated for the Thailand Cultural Centre. (mrta.co.th)

Allow some extra time before the performance, especially during evening rush hour in Bangkok.
